Progress Report (First 100 hours)
I started my internship at Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) – 90.7 Love Radio last April 1, 2013. I was first assigned to organize the IDs that were going to be used for the Aliwan Fiesta and fortunately, I had the same time schedule with my old friend and classmate at Far Eastern University (FEU). I made friends and adjusted easily to my new environment. My supervisor was a bit strict yet kind and understanding, just perfect at how I think supervisors should be. The next day on my site, I was asked to handle the Aliwan Fiesta official twitter and Love Radio Manila’s facebook and twitter account for a while. I was given the power to be the administrator of the said accounts until I was officially assigned as a Social Media Intern for MBC. I was oriented and trained with a partner to handle three accounts including the Yes FM Manila’s facebook and twitter page. I was so happy that I was picked and I felt really privileged. I thought everything was a piece of cake until we realized how stressful managing multiple accounts can be. Stressful in a way that we have to think of something new yet have to keep in mind of how a post should be without forgetting the guidelines given to us. It was critical and hard yet fun. It was so knowledgeable and I gained a lot from it. Personally, it made me a more cautious and responsible netizen as well. What made me happy was when my supervisor at social media said that the bosses were so happy with my performance.
Since I was assigned for the Social Media of MBC, I had the advantage of backstage pass and got to be different artists and people. It was an amazing experience even if it was so tiring because we have to stay overnight and work. MBC was so generous for taking care of us interns and gave us free food for the whole Aliwan Fiesta days. I can totally say that I am not just a radio intern at MBC but experience event organizing as well.

Progress Report (Last 100 hours)
For my last 100 hours of internship, I was actually planning on going to a different field and site. I got accepted to Solar News Channel but I made a very tough decision and decided to continue my other 100 hours at MBC. The good thing is, I know to myself that I somehow made the right decision. I know I could have had a different kind of experience to Solar but my heart says that I should stay. It is indeed a bit cheesy but it felt like home at MBC. I learned a lot more than I expected. I was still made as a social media intern and was assigned to three different radio station Facebook and Twitter accounts of MBC, namely, Love Radio Manila, Yes FM Manila and Easy Rock Manila. I also experienced field work and got to be in a Love Radio event outside MBC. They taught us so much.
My summer 2013 is definitely the most amazing summer I experienced so far. I thank God for the opportunities and chances that He gave me. 200 hours is too short and if I could only wish for more, I definitely would. I know my last day at my internship site was not the last time I’m gonna see those people but I will never be going to be with them like I used to. I’m gonna miss everyone and everything. I’m just so happy with the experience and will forever cherish those moments.
I learned a lot not just from work but in life as well.
